
The Cadillac Eldorado replica was part of the Cadillac line from 1953 to 2002. The Cadillac Eldorado was the best American individual comfort car as it was the only one sold after the 1998 model year. Its main competitors comprise the Lincoln Mark Series and the low price Buick Rivier.
Eldorado The name comes from the words in Spanish in El Dorado, meaning "the gilded one" [or the man of gold]. "The" is the Spanish equivalent of "." Cadillac selected the name to display a convertible car built in 1952 to celebrate the golden anniversary of the company. It was suggested in a competition at the home of Mary-Ann Marini, nee Zukowsky, and Cadillac’s merchandising staff. The company adopted the name of the limited edition, top of the line 1953 Cadillac convertible. It quickly changed to "El Dorado" (two words) to "El Dorado" (one word).
